Big Hair Styles

In case you were wondering, the big, full, long and layered hair style hasn't gone anywhere.  Cheryl Cole recently was seen with this very glamorous style.

Create this style on your own by first applying a volumizing hair product and/or a root volumizer product to damp hair.  Blow dry the hair using a large round brush. Direct all layers down and under.

When the hair is completely dry, add soft waves throughout using a medium barrel curling iron or hot rollers.  To finish off the style and create the height in the crown area, take small sections of hair and gently back comb them and smooth over the top with your fingers.

Bangs are Hot AGAIN This Year

It is the return (as if they went anywhere) of the hair bang. Many celebrities are adding a full hair bang to their hairstyle for an updated look.  Wispy and side swept bangs are also popular.  See Liz Hurley, photo left.

This siren of the screen carries off this classy look to perfection. Liz's hair has been layered to create a soft and full style which boasts body and bounce. The soft bangs have been parted on the side to create a softer look for the face, and is a flattering option for longer face shapes and high foreheads.

The long bob is a cut that was grew out of the typical bob. The hair is left long and cut typically just above the shoulders. Bangs are also left long bending into the bob or cut a little longs then the bob for depth.

The bob remains a hot hairstyle for 2011, in fact, it's so hot that many actresses and singers are cutting off their long locks for chin-grazing bobs and the longer "demi-bobs" or long bobs. 

This season's bob has a bit of edge to it. The hot bobs for 2011 are messy, a bit tousled but they all end at the chin or just below it, like Keira's here. Add in blunt bangs or fringe for a really edgy look. 

So who can wear the bob? Anyone with a nice jawline and neck will look good in a bob. If you have a round face, a long bob is a better option for you (see below). As for hair texture, bobs work best on thin to medium hair. Stay away from short hair if you have curly hair, a bob will only puff out on you.
